We have to care for equipment in the poultry house in order to keep it working for as long as possible. Water is the most important nutrient that we can supply to our birds, so we should take extra care to ensure that the water delivery system is always clean and free of debris.
It is important to keep in mind the mechanics of how birds drink. Because birds cannot swallow, they will tilt their heads back to let the water slide down their throat. This requires producers to always have the water line and the appropriate height (just above eye level so birds must stretch to reach the trigger pin) and that the line has enough water pressure to release a perfectly sized water droplet according to the age of the bird.
